Historic Riley Park is located in NW Calgary, at the intersection of 10 Street and 5 Avenue. N.W.
The water line for the drinking fountain will run from 12 Street N.W. and the drinking fountain will be convenient to the proposed permanent band stand and the refurbished children’s playground.
Water for Riley is grateful to the City of Calgary Parks Department for its permission to use the land in Riley Park, and so grateful to the City of Calgary Parks and other staff for all the support.
With the drinking fountain fabrication close to starting, our terrific partners at the City of Calgary have planned the details of water lines, hookups, and road digs. In July, 2017, we received a more precise map of where the Reflecting Blooms of the fountain will be planted.
The location is north of the playground. City staff explained: “As you will see the plan is to have the new line skirt the planting bed and then end up by the playground/benches/picnic tables. This is the most efficient way for the water.”
The prior location, during the development stage, was further north of the playground, west of the bandstand pad. The change, while small in distance, is significant in finalizing details to complete the project. To help with Water for Riley call 403 862 1923.
